Coach Selection

NOW ACCEPTING EXTRA 2024-2025 COACH APPLICATIONS.

Region 60 EXTRA™ Program Coaches must complete all AYSO volunteer coach requirements (click here for more information) as well as an EXTRA™ Coach application, in order to be considered for an EXTRA™ Program team.

Coach positions for Membership Year 2024-25 will be considered for the following divisions:

● 9U Girls (born in 2016)	● 9U Boys (born in 2016)
● 10U Girls (born in 2015)	● 10U Boys (born in 2015)
● 11U Girls (born in 2014)	● 11U Boys (born in 2014)
● 12U Girls (born in 2013)	● 12U Boys (born in 2013)

In addition to meeting the requirements below, EXTRA™ Program Coaches must demonstrate effective communication, team management, support for Region 60's values and continuous development as a soccer coach. 

 

 

Coach selection Q&A

Q1: What is the coach selection process?
A1: Coach application, must meet minimum criteria, and must be approved by Selection Committee.

Q2: When will coaches be notified if they are approved?
A2: As early as possible, typically no later than April. Teams cannot be formed until the coach has been identified and has met all requirements.

Q3: What happens if the selected coach’s player does not make the team?
A3: Coaches are encouraged not to coach their own children. However, in this event the coach has the option to either coach the team without their child being a part of it, or remove themselves from consideration so another coach may be selected. The coach and player may then participate in the Fall Core program.
