Alhambra/Monterey Park

Background Information

This region is made up of volunteers...

Parents, grandparents, and guardians just like you. If you would like to volunteer in any way, feel free to find any of the board members on the field (some are wearing a navy blue Region 60 shirt) or near our Region 60 bin closest to Los Higos.  You can also email our board members below based on your need.

Our coaches attend age specific training clinics each season.  Teams are formed based on age and gender.  We do our best to balance out the skill levels on each team so that the kids can play in a fair and safe environment while still being able to learn the fundamentals of the game.

We are in need of more referees and coaches! If you are interested in volunteering to become a referee or a coach, AYSO has referee clinics and coach's clinics that you can attend.  We can provide an experienced referee or coach to guide you along the way.  New referees will start reffing games of younger aged children.

Coach Administrator:  Matthew Chavez
Referee Administrator:  Steve Perry
Director of Referee Instruction:  Kristy Rowe

CHECKING YOUR VOLUNTEER STATUS AND CERTIFICATIONS

How do I check my background status and eligibility?

Every volunteer is required to pass a background check and complete three classes before entering the field.  AYSO has created an easy method to lookup and manage your volunteer status and eligibility.

1.  Login to ayso60.org

2.  In your account page, click on the "Volunteer" tab.

3.  The Volunteer record displays your status and eligibility.

What this means:
1. Status of Green signifies you have a current and valid background check.
2. "Verified" indicates the you've completed the required training and a certificate is on file.
3. An orange triangle indicates there is no record of completion and you are not yet in compliance with a mandatory requirement.
4. "Pending Verification" suggests you have completed the training or uploaded proof of completion, however the Regional CVPA must still review and approve. Contact your Division Coordinator, Coach Administrator, Referee Administrator or the Regional CVPA for further action.
Every volunteer must complete the first four requirements before working directly with children.
5. Coaching licenses are only required for coaches (not for referees or team parents). Every Coach must be trained to the level they intend to coach. Your Division Coordinator or the Coach Administrator will work with you to obtain the required training before the season begins or as soon as possible.

Volunteers

AYSO runs on volunteer power

This means registered volunteers run the local AYSO programs all over the country, including Region 60 (Alhambra | Monterey Park).  Every Regional Commissioner, regional board member, coach, referee, and team manager is a volunteer (the list goes on).

Only the hundreds of volunteers in our Region, donating their time every season, allow us to be as successful and far-reaching as we are today.  The three volunteer roles that every team needs are:

Snack Bar

A very important part of our soccer program is the SNACK BAR!  We are always looking for extra hands to help serve the community.  If you're interested in volunteering at the Snack Bar, please reach out to Kristy.
