AYSO Region 60 (Alhambra | Monterey Park) is part of AYSO's structure of Sections | Areas | Regions (S|A|R)

SECTION - AYSO divides the country into 14 geographic Sections based on player population. Section Directors are responsible for activities in their respective Section, ensuring that Areas and Regions comply with all AYSO fundamentals and deliver quality programs.  Region 60 is part of Section 1, the birth place of AYSO.

AREA - A group of AYSO Regions combine to form an Area.  AYSO has close to 100 Areas nationwide. Area Directors are trained to support and mentor each of their Regions, and are responsible for oversight of activities within their Regions. AYSO Region 60 is part of Area 1C, serving the West San Gabriel Valley.

REGION - AYSO’s grassroots programs begin with a community-based league, called a Region. A Region can range in size from less than a hundred players to several thousand. Each Region is run by a volunteer Regional Commissioner and a volunteer Regional Board.  Our Region 60 serves the communities in the area of Alhambra & Monterey Park.

The AYSO National Office, located in Torrance, California, provides support to Regions, Areas, Sections and the National Board of Directors. The National Office provides professional staff that support AYSO programs and are able assist at many levels.  This includes:

• Education resources
• Centralized accounting and registration functions
• Marketing and fundraising assistance
• Communications resources
• Development support

AYSO runs on volunteer power

Registered volunteers run the local AYSO programs all over the country.  

Here in Region 60 (Alhambra & Monterey Park), every board member, coach, referee, team manager, youth volunteer, snack bar attendee, and more, are all 100% volunteers.  Only due to the thousands of volunteer hours donated every season, can AYSO Region 60 be as successful and far-reaching as we are today.
