ALL-STARS (Section - Area - Regional)

All-Stars is a separate post-core season program consisting of additional travel to other local regions and competitive soccer.  It is organized and run by AYSO Area 1C for select players and coaches that have demonstrated excellence during the Core program, and are committed to improve their skills again elite players from other local Regions in Area 1C.  Teams play an intense schedule with games on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Players are selected from the Core program by the head coaches of each respective division based on player ratings.
  • Players selected to an All-Star Team must commit to make practices and games according to the attendance requirement.
  • The number of All Star teams formed is often limited by the number of qualified parents who volunteer to coach and referee.
  • Players whose parents commit to coach or referee during the All-Star Season will be given additional consideration for selection.

Competition within Area 1C may include games versus and located in ANY of the following Regions:

  • Arcadia (2)
  • Pasadena (13)
  • San Gabriel (40)
  • Alhambra (60)
  • Glendale (88)
  • Temple City (98)
  • South Pasadena and San Marino (214)
  • South El Monte (908)
  • Boyle Heights (1304)

There are three levels of All-Star play – Section, Area and Regional:

  • Section All-Stars is the top-flight All-Stars competition.  Each Region may enter one boys and one girls Section All-Star team in the 10U, 12U & 14U divisions.   
  • Area All-Stars is the middle-flight All-Stars competition.  Each Region may enter one boys and one girls Area All-Star team in the  10U, 12U & 14U divisions.
  • Regional All-Stars is designed to further develop the skills of players and coaches who have demonstrated excellent soccer skills and enthusiasm. Each Region may enter as many teams as it can support with qualified referees and coaches.

Grad Series

Graduation (Grad) Series is an introduction for 8U coaches and players entering 10U the following year, exposing them to a more competitive level of play. The program is open to 8U players and other membership year players, consistent with Region 60 policies. All Region 60 teams participating in the program shall be balanced.

Games are played using 10U rules, offside rule, build out line, 7v7 games, goalkeepers, size 4 ball, scores, standings and typically ends in a playoff tournament. 

This program is a great opportunity for players, parents, coaches and referees to become familiar with the new elements of 10U play that they'll encounter in the following membership year. While concepts of 10U competition are introduced, the main focus of this environment is about learning and having fun!

Spring Season

Area 1C Spring Season

Spring Season is an Area 1C program that Region 60 may take part in.   This is an open registration season, tournament style program that will include:

  • 10U | 12U | 14U boys and girls divisions that may play 3 weekends of tournament style pool play in which multiple games may be played on both Saturdays and Sundays.  A playoff weekend may be included for qualifying teams.
  • 16U | 19U Upper Division boys and girls teams will play 1 game on Sundays only.

  • Teams will need to meet coaching and referee requirements set by Area 1C.
