EXTRA COACH ELIGIBILITY

Benefits of Coaching an AYSO EXTRA Team:

1. Professional Trainers and Player Development: Each EXTRA team’s registration fees include access to professional trainers prior to and during the regular season to help the players develop technical skills, tactical abilities and fitness levels that set a clear path toward achieving realistic goals and realizing potential, while having fun and learning the game of soccer.

2. Coach your EXTRA team from August through February, with the ability to start practices in the summer. 

3. Coach Mentoring: EXTRA Coaches will have a total of 10 hrs of practice run by a professional trainer.

4. Everyone Plays: All players are guaranteed to play 1/2 of the game.

5. Positive Coaching: All coaches must be certified and experienced, as well as strive to motivate and teach using P.I.E: Positive, Instructional, and Encouraging. 

6. Committed Players: Players are selected through a tryout process to ensure that the skill and level of commitment is at a competitive level.

REQUIRED COACHING CERTIFICATIONS: Clear Background check, Safesport, Safe Haven, CDC Concussion, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, LiveScan, Division Specific Coaching Certification and Regional Referee Certification.

All existing EXTRA coaches are required to reapply each year. Please complete the EXTRA Coach Application no later than January 31st.
